How the Foundation Makes a Difference

The George W. Yu Foundation for Nutrition and Health founded in 2006 provides grants to individuals and organization involved in biological, chemical, and clinical research in nutrition and its effect on disease; chemical and biological toxins and new detoxification methods; and cell regeneration. Many of the Foundation’s grants will serve as "bridge funding," providing support necessary for the continuation and advancement of existing research projects in the Foundation’s areas of focus. The foundation awards grants to research projects which holds great promise but may have gone unnoticed by other funding sources. The Foundation gives preference to efficient and low overheard research, so that grants are used for the actual research funds.

Grants Category 1 - More than Public Awareness

Our goal is to spread useful information to the largest audience worldwide. It is more than awareness but empowerment of knowledge that will affect you and your loved ones- so we want you to be passionate and proactive to help us! Traditionally there is a lag time of five to ten years from the discoveries to the reality!

The resource center provide information on how to get to things: Who practices CR optimal nutrition, What food groups have the highest nutrition with the least calories, how can you find institutions worldwide who can teach you how to eat right, where can you buy items, who are the doctors and health professionals who can guide you, what books and websites are important, and what is the scientific information to validate our approach. The resource center requires ongoing expenses to update new information which is constantly changing. The foundation endeavors to be a resource center for worthy information that cannot be easily obtained elsewhere.

We are always attempting to reach the world in order to come to the "Tipping Point" (Malcolm Gladwell) and create a momentum to make the "Changes" which benefit world health.

A portion of our money goes to basic science and clinical research as "Bridge Funding" for worthy projects in keeping with our foundation goals. Unlike others, our foundation requires that any researcher and institution can allocate the maximum of 10 percent to general expenses, "overhead" or general obligations and 90 percent must go to the actual research. You need to know that your money is being used for the actual work.

No more than 10% of our donations go to general expense. 90% must go to research.
